Legal & Safety Disclaimer

Last Updated: January 2026

Please read this disclaimer carefully before purchasing or using any vehicle from Kubbi. By purchasing a product from this website, you (the "Customer") acknowledge and agree to the following terms regarding the legal status, safety, and operation of our products.

1. Legal Status of Vehicles (UK Law)

1.1. Electric Dirt Bikes & Quads The electric dirt bikes and quad bikes sold by Kubbi (specifically those exceeding 250W power output or 15.5mph assisted speed) are classified as Non-Road Legal Off-Road Vehicles.

  • Private Land Only: These vehicles strictly cannot be used on public highways, public roads, pavements, cycle paths, or bridleways.

  • Landowner Permission: They must only be operated on private land with the express permission of the landowner.

  • Road Traffic Act: Using these vehicles on public roads is a criminal offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 and may result in prosecution, fines, penalty points on your driving licence, and seizure of the vehicle by the police.

1.2. Electric Scooters Under current UK legislation, privately owned electric scooters are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs).

  • Public Road Ban: It is currently illegal to ride a privately owned electric scooter on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes in the UK.

  • Usage Restriction: They are intended for use on private land only.

  • Rental Schemes: The law regarding legal rental scooters (e.g., Voi, Lime) does not apply to the privately owned scooters sold on this website.

2. Parental Responsibility & Age Recommendations

2.1. Supervision Required All products designed for children or teenagers are sold with the strict understanding that they will be operated under the direct supervision of a responsible adult.

  • Assessment of Ability: Age recommendations provided by Kubbi are estimates only. It is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to determine if a child has the necessary physical size, coordination, and maturity to operate the vehicle safely.

  • Control: Parents must ensure that speed limiters (where fitted) are set appropriately for the rider's skill level.

2.2. Safety Gear Riding off-road vehicles involves inherent risks.

  • Mandatory Equipment: Riders must always wear a correctly fitted helmet.

  • Recommended Equipment: We strongly recommend the use of additional safety gear, including eye protection, gloves, knee pads, elbow pads, and sturdy footwear.

  • No Passengers: Unless explicitly designed for two people, our vehicles are single-rider only.

3. Limitation of Liability

3.1. Assumption of Risk The Customer acknowledges that operating electric vehicles involves risks of serious injury or death. By purchasing a vehicle from Kubbi, the Customer voluntarily assumes all risks associated with its use.

3.2. Exclusion of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kubbi (and its officers, employees, and agents) shall not be liable for:

  • Any injury, death, or damage to persons or property caused by the operation of the vehicle.

  • Any legal penalties, fines, or vehicle seizures resulting from the use of the vehicle in prohibited areas (e.g., public roads).

  • Any damage caused by improper assembly, lack of maintenance, or modification of the vehicle.

3.3. Modifications Any modification to the vehicle’s motor, controller, speed limiter, or battery system voids the warranty immediately and may render the vehicle unsafe. Kubbi accepts no liability for modified vehicles.

4. Battery Maintenance & Safety

Our vehicles use high-performance Lithium-ion or Lead-acid batteries. To prevent fire risk or damage:

  • Charging: Never leave a battery charging unattended or overnight. Only use the charger supplied with the vehicle.

  • Storage: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not store fully discharged batteries for long periods.

  • Damage: Do not use a battery that shows signs of swelling, damage, or leakage.

5. Assembly & Maintenance

5.1. Professional Assembly Recommended While many of our products arrive partially assembled, final assembly (fitting handlebars, wheels, tightening bolts) is required. We strongly recommend that a qualified bicycle or motorcycle mechanic performs or checks the assembly before the first ride.

5.2. Pre-Ride Checks It is the user's responsibility to perform a pre-ride check before every use, including:

  • Checking tyre pressure and condition.

  • Testing brakes for proper function.

  • Ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight (vibration can loosen bolts over time).
